Our History
That Was Then ...
The Birth of Cross Connections Ministries
Equip to Serve Global Outreach Ministries began as an online teaching outreach in 2000. Long before virtual ministry became popular, Overseer Linda M. Brown was already hosting virtual gatherings, teaching the Word, and building online communities of faith. Overseer Linda M. Brown, driven by a passion to share God’s Word, led Bible studies through platforms like PalTalk and Yahoo Groups. One day, after teaching in a college study room, a student handed her a $20 seed and encouraged her to continue. That moment became a quiet confirmation.
In 2005, Cross Connections Ministries (CCM) was officially established with the mission: “Connecting communities to the Cross of Jesus Christ.” For years, Overseer Linda served through discipleship, advocacy, and collaboration with local agencies—until a series of strokes and the passing of her pastor, Bishop Ellen A. Stevens, marked a turning point. Amid grief, she declared, “We’re going to keep moving forward.”
This is NOW!
During a time of consecrated prayer, Overseer Linda sensed the Lord leading her not to restart CCM, but to birth something new. The name came quickly: Equip to Serve.
Today, Equip to Serve is a global apostolic ministry reaching servant leaders across four continents. Its mission is to equip, activate, and send individuals into their God-given assignments—in ministry, the marketplace, and beyond.
